  1. Another beautiful Miyazaki movie where almost nothing seems to go wrong! Seriously, its nothing but nice things happening through out practically the whole movie, I love that feeling from a movie, where you don't have to worry about bad things happening all the time.

    That new banner kicks ass!

  2. Thanks, Francisco. The absence of any real threat to the protagonists, and the sheer celebration of the things that are good about life, are what I love about this movie and 'My Neighbour Totoro'. In some of Miyazaki's other films - such as 'Nausicaa' or 'Princess Mononoke' - there's a central conflict or tension that you can get wrapped up in to a degree where forget just how visually beautiful the films are and how joyous the characters. As good as 'Nausicaa' and 'Mononoke' are, I don't feel as close to the protagonists as I do with 'Kiki' and 'Totoro'.
