Yeah! I was so happy when he got it, the best character of the year. And though Waltz gives lot's of credit to Tarantino's script (as he should) Waltz also had a lot to do in order to bring these characters to life.
Wasn't it cool how Tarantino thanked his actors for bringing these characters to life, and in turn, his actors thanked him for writing them? Pretty cool partnership! Now there's some mutual appreciation for ya!
